Well done to you five !
A new term signals a new topic here in year 1. This term, we are learning about plants, so to kick start the topic, we have a new role play set up - The Blooming Bumblebees Garden Centre. The children have loved playing in here this week! There are lots of jobs to do here at our garden centre - weighing out bird feed; measuring plant feed; adding up the price of flowers and seeds as well as learning how to look after plants to name just a few. We shall be gardening experts before you know it!
The Year 1 pirates thoroughly enjoyed Pirate Day here at Wolsey House. We became pirates on a ship, made a deserted island and a parrot and then we went on a treasure hunt in the forest and even ate PIRATE POPCORN!
AHOY there shipmates!
We are very excited to announce that our very special Pirate Day in Year 1 will be held at school on Tuesday 2nd April 2019. During the day we will be taking part in map reading, craft activities and even eating some pirate food! We would like the children to come dressed as a pirate, but please don't buy anything new! Old clothes, such as jeans, a stripy top and a bandana would be great, as some of the activities are outdoors and we may get a little messy!
We are very much looking forward to it!
Watch this space for photos of our Pirate Day!
In Science, we have been looking at seasonal change. We went on a Spring Walk down to our nature area and found lots of signs of Spring! Daffodils, new leaves on trees, blossom and frog spawn in the pond (we are VERY excited about this!!)
International Day of Happiness
On Wednesday, we celebrated International Day of Happiness. We thought about what 5 things make us happy and we made a pledge to spread happiness around the world
We have be looking at materials in Science. We even became scientists and investigated which material would be best to make a roof! For our homework this week, we had to design and make a house out of the different materials we have learnt about! We are very proud of our homework!
Welcome to the Bumblebees Class!
Our class teacher is Mrs Barr.
Our teaching assistants are Miss Barden & Miss Patel.
Our PE day is Friday. We will be using both indoor and outdoor areas.
Homework is usually given out on a Friday and due in the following Friday.
