The eTwinning action is an initiative of the European Commission. Established in 2005, it aims to encourage teachers in European schools to work collaboratively using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) by providing the necessary infrastructure (online tools, services, support).

Teachers registered in the eTwinning action can form partnerships and develop collaborative, pedagogical school projects in any subject area by using ICT to develop their project. At least two teachers from two different European countries are needed.

The primary workspace for the eTwinning action, is the eTwinning Portal ( and is the main meeting point and workspace for the action. It is available in twenty-five languages.

It is a free and safe platform for teachers to connect, develop collaborative projects and share ideas in Europe.

We have established links with three schools in France, École Élémentaire Jules Ferry in Saint Martin des Champs; Scoala Gimnaziala in Galati-Romania and École Publique Élémentaire in Saint-Genès de Castillon.

Year 5 are exchanging Christmas cards with these schools. Our aim is to develop eTwinning throughout the school.
