As you may know we started using a company called Magic Breakfast who supply us with low sugar cereals & bagels.
On average we have 45 pupils attending breakfast club each morning, the bagels also go out onto the playground as children arrive at school.
We recently had a visitor from Magic breakfast to see how our breakfast club is being run, this is the feedback we received:
There was a lovely, caring, friendly, welcoming environment in breakfast club. It was evident that the staff knew the children really well. The activities on offer were stimulating, interesting and educational. All activity stations were busy and the children were having fun. Games, Arts and Crafts, Mini pool, Brainflakes, Trains/Cars, Giant Connect 4 were all on offer. The staff commented that some children had never played board games or made a train track. No screens were available in the club. The children were all developing in their social skills.
Playground bagels were delivered like clockwork. Year 6 bagel monitors were efficient and effective in their deployment of boxes and in encouraging uptake. When I spoke to them, they all thoroughly enjoyed their job and thrived on the responsibility. They also loved the bagels!
There was a convivial, positive, happy atmosphere on the playground as children, siblings and adults alike took a bagel. There was a great sense of community and sharing.
If you think your child would benefit from attending breakfast club, just pop into the office and pick up a form, it doesn't have to be everyday either!. the cost of breakfast club is £2 this is to cover the cost of staff looking after the children.
If your child is entitled to free school meals there is no charge.
