Class 6 Year 4

Welcome Class 6

Our PE day is Friday.

Art

Check out the artwork these famous artists produced!

Printing - This is a technique used by many artists where you create a design on something (like a potato or a piece of foam or card) which you can apply ink or paint to, and make a print of it on to paper or card. William Morris and Andy Warhol are famous for using this technique - Click on the presentations to learn more about them and to find out how to create your own printing masterpieces!

Painting - We can develop our painting skills by choosing colours to show moods and feelings in our artwork. Kandinsky did this and is famous for creating brilliant abstract paintings. Have a look at the presentation to see some of his work and to inspire you to create your own mood painting!

Roman Numerals

To help you remember your Roman Numerals

First 2 weeks back

In the first 2 weeks back, the whole school took part in an "Our Leicester" project. Year 4 was asked to look at Leicester sports teams and their history.

We learned about Leicester City Football club, how they started and all their own kits. We even designed and made our own 2020 kits.

We also looked into Speedway and the Leicester Lions! We investigated what material would make a good race track and talked a lot about the importance of friction.

Another amazing discovery was that Jennie Fletcher (Mr Fletcher's great aunt!) won an Olympic gold medal for swimming! We had great fun generating questions and interviewing Mr Fletcher.
