Remote Education

Remote education at Wolsey House Primary School

At Wolsey House Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that learning continues when pupils are unable to attend school in person.

When we provide remote learning:

We offer remote learning when:

  • The school is closed due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., severe weather)
  • Individual pupils cannot physically attend school, but are well enough to continue learning (e.g., recovering from illness or injury)
  • There are restrictions on attendance due to public health guidance

What remote learning looks like:

Our remote learning provision aims to provide:

  • Key Stage 1 (Years 1-2): Approximately 3 hours of learning activities per day
  • Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6): Approximately 4 hours of learning activities per day

We deliver remote learning through:

  • Our school's online learning platform; Seesaw or Tapestry (EYFS).
  • A combination of recorded lessons, live sessions and independent activities
  • Resources from trusted providers such as Oak National Academy and BBC Bitesize

Subjects covered

Remote learning will include:

  • Core subjects: English, mathematics and science
  • Foundation subjects where appropriate
  • Physical activity and wellbeing activities

Support and Expectations

For pupils:

  • Access learning materials through Seesaw
  • Complete set work to the best of their ability
  • Ask for help when needed

For parents/carers:

  • Support your child to access remote learning
  • Contact the school if you need help with technology or learning
  • Maintain regular communication with your child's teacher

Safeguarding During Remote Learning
