Eco School
At Wolsey House Primary School, we are proud to be an Eco‑School and thrilled to have earned the Eco‑Schools Green Flag Award. This achievement reflects our deep commitment to protecting our planet, promoting environmental understanding and inspiring our children to care for the world around them. By nurturing eco values from the earliest years, we help our children grow into thoughtful, informed and proactive citizens of the future.
How we bring Eco learning to life
The Eco-Schools programme is a whole‑school adventure involving every child from Nursery to Year 6. Through fun, hands‑on activities, children explore exciting environmental topics such as:
- 🌱 Biodiversity
- 💡 Energy
- ♻️ Waste
- 💧 Water
- 🍎 Healthy Living
- 🌎 Global Citizenship
These themes are woven into our curriculum and brought to life through special events, creative projects and inspiring child‑led initiatives.

Forest School
A treasured part of our eco journey is our Forest School. Here, children enjoy regular time outdoors, building resilience, teamwork and practical outdoor skills while developing a true love for nature.
Many of our pupils take on active leadership roles through the Eco Committee and ongoing eco projects. These opportunities help children grow in confidence, develop leadership skills and become passionate advocates for sustainability.
Outdoor learning and Forest School experiences play an important role in supporting children’s wellbeing. Time spent in nature helps children feel grounded, calm and connected, while eco learning encourages creativity, problem‑solving and curiosity as they explore real‑world environmental challenges.
Our whole‑school dedication to sustainability has had a powerful impact on our children, staff and the wider community. We are enormously proud to have earned the 2025 Eco-Schools Green Flag Award, recognising the depth and quality of our eco work.

Achieving the Green Flag Award is a celebration of the hard work, passion and teamwork shown throughout Wolsey House. Most importantly, it is a reminder that when children are given the chance to lead, they can make an incredible difference—to their school, their community and the planet.
